The first
thing we noticed when we arrived was how CLASSIC the design of the restaurant
is. There are two sections where one can choose to sit at the dining table or
on the floor just like in the old days. To top it off, with the BAJU BATIK worn
by the workers, one will definitely feel like he is in a peaceful village.
Since it is
an Indonesian restaurant, they sell mainly heavy dishes with RICE. We tried 3
different meals, namely, NASI GORENG SEAFOOD, NASI PUTIH WITH AYAM PENYET and
NASI PUTIH WITH AYAM BAKAR. As for the drinks, Syaza and Helina had ICED SYRUP
while Haz ordered ES BUAH which consisted of mixed fruits.
NASI PUTIH
WITH AYAM PENYET is the restaurant’s signature dish. It might look like plain
rice with chicken and ‘sambal’, but it’s actually really good. However, the
taste the ‘SAMBAL’ might be too much for someone who does not like spicy food.
Even though the ‘sambal’ was given in a small portion, one may need to order
more than one glass water. So, beware all you non-spicy food lovers! :p
Haz ordered
the NASI PUTIH WITH AYAM BAKAR. Her comment on the dish was that it’s good as
you can really taste the spices on the chicken. But, she would highly recommend
the readers to order the SET DISH instead of white rice with an ala carte ayam
bakar. The set consists of more than the chicken. It has tempe, vegetables and
a few other things. The price is also reasonable.
NASI GORENG
SEAFOOD, on the other hand, has a big portion which is more than enough to make
a person become full. To be honest, it did not really suit Helina’s taste
(she’s the one who ordered it) L. To her, it tasted just like any other normal
fried rice. However, everyone has their own opinions. For Haz, the nasi goreng
had a great taste.
Although
the service is FAST, not all workers had a FRIENDLY SMILE on their faces. That somehow
affected our impression towards the restaurant. Nevertheless, the food was satisfying
and we had a really great late lunch! :D
It's like you're copying the kafehunters = anita, anuar and themalaysianguy (brother to afif fahmi rosli. I forgot his name) .. :(
